A Story of Survival & Discovery
At age 20, Aajonus Vonderplanitz was diagnosed with blood and bone cancers and given less than six months to live. Medical treatments — surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy — left him semi-invalid with multiple new “incurable” diseases.
The doctors gave him a final death sentence: “three months at best.” Rather than accept this fate, he began searching for alternatives.
He spent three years traveling North America by bicycle, studying the diets and healing methods of various cultural groups and animals. What he discovered changed everything: raw animal foods held the key to reversing disease.
He outlived his medical death sentence by over three decades, completely reversing his cancers, diabetes, autism, psoriasis, and bursitis. His journey led him to develop what he called the Primal Diet.

Core Principles
The Primal Diet is built on fundamental truths about human nutrition that challenge conventional wisdom.
Raw is Essential
Cooking destroys enzymes, alters proteins, and creates carcinogenic toxins. For every one cancer cell chemotherapy kills, one billion healthy cells die. Raw foods retain their full healing potential.
Fat is Protective
Raw fats are the most utilized nutrient in our bodies. They cleanse, lubricate, protect cells, bind toxins, and provide the strongest, most efficient energy possible.
Bacteria is Beneficial
Bacteria, yeast, and parasites have a janitorial role — they decompose dead cells and help detoxification. The “germ theory” is a distraction from the true causes of disease.
The Core Foods
The Primal Diet consists primarily of these nutrient-dense raw foods, each serving a specific purpose in healing and maintenance.
Raw Meat
The only protein that facilitates nerve-tissue regeneration and cellular reproduction. Red meat for glands, blood, and muscle. White meat for connective tissue and nerves.
Raw Dairy
Unsalted raw butter is the primary substance that dissolves toxins, protects cells, and delivers strength and energy. Raw milk and cream provide essential fats and nutrients.
Raw Eggs
One of the best compact foods in nature — the ultimate complete fast-food. Remarkable for everyone, especially the infirm. One woman ate 66 eggs over a weekend and recovered from being bedridden.
Unheated Honey
Contains an insulin-like substance that converts 90% of carbohydrates into digestive enzymes. Must never be heated above 93°F (33°C) or the healing properties are destroyed.
Important: Green vegetable juices are the only non-toxic vitamin, enzyme, and mineral supplements. They replace nutrients lost in daily activity and help neutralize acidic compounds in the blood. Drink 2-4 times daily, but not with other foods.
Why Raw?
When we eat raw food, we have trillions of enzyme helpers to accomplish digestion, assimilation, detoxification, and cellular reproduction with little waste.
When we cook and process our food, we massacre these helpers. Our bodies must then leech quality vitamins, enzymes, minerals, fats, and proteins from every cell just to digest the cooked food — and then must leech even more nutrients to detoxify the poisons formed during cooking.
This leeching process gradually and unnoticeably weakens every cell in our bodies. Many years of leeching causes the gradual decrease in strength and agility we associate with aging — but it doesn't have to be this way.
Animals require 5 generations to reach optimal health. Since human bones take approximately 7½ years to be completely replaced, our bodies require approximately 40 years to rebuild themselves to reach optimal health. Fortunately, we improve every year on a health-giving diet.
